How Much Does a TAG Heuer Aquaracer Cost?

Aquaracer 300M Watches

TAG Heuer has a long-standing history with dive watches. Based on the original Aquaracer 2000 series from the 1980s, the current lineup of TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M watches manage to retain the classic feel of the early versions. However, they now boast a more modern design alongside more advanced specifications. These time-and-date watches can withstand up to 300 meters of water resistance, and are available in either mechanical and quartz versions.

One of the collection’s most popular 300M models is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M Ref. WAY201N.FT6177. This TAG Heuer Aquaracer 43mm dive watch features an eye-catching tortoiseshell-patterned bezel, which perfectly frames the black sunray dial. The hour markers and hands of this TAG Heuer dive watch come with a luminous fill that makes for easy timekeeping even when in the depths of the ocean. At the heart of the Aquaracer 300M Ref. WAY201N.FT6177 is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Caliber 5, which runs on a frequency of 4 Hz per second. It also has an approximate power reserve of 38 hours. The timepiece comes with a TAG Heuer price of $2,700 USD.

Another popular model is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M Ref. WAY111C.BA0928. This model comes in a 41mm brushed and polished steel case, which comes with six studs, for easier handling when wearing diving gloves. Meanwhile, the stainless steel bracelet comes with an integrated diver extension. This allows it to be comfortably worn over a diving suit. The blue aluminum bezel features oversized Arabic numerals that serve as an elapsed time scale, showing a total of 60 minutes with five-minute increments. This TAG Heuer Aquaracer quartz dive watch comes with a striking blue dial and applied index hour markers.

The hour and minute hands of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M ref. WAY111C.BA0928 are also coated with luminous material. The watch also comes with a seconds hand that has a sharp orange pointed tip. This seconds hand is also useful as a battery life indicator, since it starts to make four-second jumps when the battery is almost worn out. This watch will set you back by around $1,700 USD.

Aquaracer 500M Watches

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M timepieces make for great diving watches. However, for professional divers, the brand also offers watches that can withstand up to a whopping 500 meters of water, dubbed the Aquaracer 500M. Unfortunately, the company ceased production of these models in 2014, so they had a short production life of only five years. Nevertheless, these timepieces are still sought-after by professional divers because of their robust materials, legibility underwater, incredible power reserve, and handy helium escape valves.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M Ref. CAK2110.BA0833 is one of the most popular models from this range. This chronograph dive watch comes in a silver, stainless steel 43mm case and a rotating silver-tone bezel with a black ceramic ring. The polished steel crown on the side of this watch comes with a black rubber rim for better grip. There’s also an automatic helium escape valve found at the 10 o’clock position of the case.

As a chronograph watch, it features three recessed sub-dials. A 12-hour counter can be found at the 6 o’clock position, a 30-minute counter at the 12 o’clock position, and a small running seconds counter located at the 9 o’clock position. Meanwhile, at the 3 o’clock position, you can find a date display window.

Powering this TAG Heuer dive watch is the Caliber 16, an automatic chronograph movement that has a frequency of 4 Hz and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. A brand new Aquaracer 500M Ref. CAK2110.BA0833 comes with a price of $3,199 USD.

Meanwhile, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M Ref. WAJ2112.BA0870 is a 43mm watch that comes in a stainless steel case and bracelet. The blue dial features a vertical streak pattern that compliments the luminous hour markers and hands. You can find a magnified date display window at the 9 o’clock position of this timepiece. The retail price of this TAG Heuer Aquaracer men’s watch is around $2,850 USD.

Arguably the most sought-after Aquaracer 500M model is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M Full Black. If you can’t already tell from the name, almost every component of this watch, from the dial, bezel, case, crown, strap, and even the movement is in matte black. Indeed, only the bezel highlights and helium escape valve are not black. The main sources of contrast on this watch are the hands and indices on the dial which are coated in yellow luminous material. Prices for the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500m Full Black start at around $1,800 USD.

This diamond-studded Aquaracer quartz timepiece will set you back by $4,700 USD.

For those who may want something a little less extravagant and kinder to your wallet, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Ref. WBD2320.BA0740 is priced at around an affordable $2,900 USD. This Aquaracer automatic watch features a silver-lacquered dial with rose gold details. The hour and minute hands are also rose-gold plated. Similar to the Ref. WBD1323.BB0320, the hour markers of this TAG Heuer Aquaracer ladies’ timepiece are embedded with 11 stunning diamonds. Ticking inside this Swiss dive watch is the Caliber 9 movement that has a power reserve of 40 hours.

One of the most popular quartz chronograph models is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph Ref. CAY111B.BA0927. This 43mm dive watch comes in a steel case with a sunray blue dial. Another popular quartz dive watch option is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph Ref. CAY1110.BA0927. This Aquaracer chronograph watch comes in a steel case with a matching steel bracelet. On the right side of the case, you can find a screw-down crown that's also made of steel. The index hour markers have a luminous fill that guarantees easy readability, and this is enhanced by the contrast of the indices against the black opaline dial. Similar to the Aquaracer Chronograph Ref. CAY111B.BA0927, this chronograph quartz watch comes with three subdials for 60-seconds, 30-minutes, and 1/10th of a second. Ticking away inside this TAG Heuer chronograph watch is the Caliber 16, which has a frequency of 4 Hz and a solid 42-hour power reserve. The Aquaracer Chronograph Ref. CAY2111.BA0927 comes with a price tag of $2,599 USD.

TAG Heuer Camouflage Watches

Typically, when talking about camouflage, the main goal is to blend into one’s surroundings. TAG Heuer managed to create designs that adhere to this understated motif, but are still able to stand out when worn on your wrist. In 2017, the brand released two military-style models, one with a blue camouflage dial and another with a matte khaki one. Both of these TAG Heuer watches came with specifically designed NATO-style straps that matched the masculine dials.

Powering these two TAG Heuer Aquaracer 43mm timepieces is the TAG Heuer Calibre 5 automatic movement. This in-house movement features hours, minutes, and seconds functions and a 38-hour power reserve.

These camo-inspired dive watches also come with a magnified date display window located at the 3 o’clock position. Both models can withstand up to 300 meters of water, more than enough for some recreational diving and other fun water sports.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Camouflage Ref. WAY208E.FC8222 will set you back by around $2,159 USD. This dive watch comes in a titanium black PVD case with a matte khaki dial. Both the ceramic bezel and NATO strap also come with a matching khaki motif. The applied indices are black gold plated, enhancing the watch’s subtle look, and have khaki luminous fill.

Meanwhile, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Camouflage Ref. WAY208D.FC8221 is much more suited for the waves or the arctic than the greens and browns of land. Enclosed in a titanium black PVD case, this sports watch features a cool blue dial with a matching blue camouflage NATO strap. The blue hour, minute and seconds hands come are coated in luminous material, ensuring better readability. This watch has a price point of around $2,319 USD.

Twin-Time

Over the years we’ve seen TAG Heuer’s various takes on GMT watches. In 2014, the brand launched GMT watches infused with the DNA of its Aquaracer line. Ticking away inside these TAG Heuer watches is the in-house Caliber 7. This GMT TAG Heuer Aquaracer automatic movement has a power reserve of around 42 to 46 hours.

From the name “Twin-Time” itself, you can tell that this range of TAG Heuer Aquaracer 43mm timepieces come with a GMT complication. The brand utilizes both a GMT hand and a rotating bezel to indicate a second time zone.

One of the most popular models in this family of watches is the “Pepsi-style” TAG Heuer Aquaracer Twin-Time Ref. WAY201F.BA0927. Thanks to its two-tone red and blue bezel, this dive watch is both stylish and functional. The bi-colored bezel allows for easier differentiation between the time zones, and this is demonstrated by the adjustable red GMT hand on the black dial. This dive watch is housed in a stainless steel case with a sturdy steel bracelet. It retails at an affordable $3,050 USD.

Similar to the Twin-Time Ref. WAY201F.BA0927, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Twin-Time Ref. WAY201T.BA0927 will also cost you $3,050 USD. Released in 2020, this newer model comes with a blue and black “Twin-Time” bezel. Boasting a notable upgrade from its predecessor, the GMT hand of this dive watch comes in a fresh blue tone that perfectly ties into the overall look. Featuring a rich, starburst blue dial, the Twin-Time Ref. WAY201T.BA0927 features a curved minute ring on the outer rim. This dive watch also possesses applied trapezoidal hour markers and baton-style hour and minute hands, while the seconds hands boast a more slender, pointed look.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer's History and Design Details

Interestingly enough, TAG Heuer wasn’t always known for its dive watches. During a time when Swiss watch brands like Rolex and Omega dominated the field of dive watches, Jack Heuer launched the Heuer 2000 in 1982. This vintage TAG Heuer watch would later inspire the 2000 Aquaracer that was launched in 2004.

The 2000 Aquaracer came in two sizes, 38mm and 41mm. The 38 mm models were quartz-powered, while the 41mm steel model ran on a TAG Heuer automatic movement. Both models were water-resistant up to 300m of water. This line of timepieces would be the design basis for today’s modern Aquaracer models.

Due to the success of the 2000 Aquaracer, in 2005, the brand relaunched the collection with a brand new name: the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M. Today’s collection of TAG Heuer Aquaracer dive watches come in different sizes, colors, patterns, and with either mechanical or quartz movements. The collection also includes chronograph dive watches that feature a packed main dial with three handy subdials. Some Aquaracer models feature two-toned bezels with GMT features inspired by vintage looks from the 1980s, but with a striking modern twist.
