History Behind the Sinn Instrument Chronographs Collection

First founded in 1961 as Helmut Sinn Spezialuhren in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the Sinn started manufacturing navigation clocks and pilot chronographs, which eventually became their face in the watchmaking industry. As a pioneer collection, the Sinn Instrument Chronographs were useful in helping not only pilots but also astronauts with some models such as 140 S and 142 S being used in outer space. In 1994, a new era in Sinn began after Lothar Schmidt acquired the company and renamed it Sinn Spezialuhren GmbH. This gave birth to the development of Sinn technologies that are now equipped in almost the entire collection of the Instrument Chronograph.

Boasting uncompromising functionality, each model under the Instrument Chronographs collection is equipped with shock-, scratch-, water-resistance, and even more advanced technologies that help their chronograph watches to be able to withstand extreme conditions in the aviation industry. Some of these include fogging prevention technologies, lubricant-free anchor escapements, and magnetic field protection.
