New Oris Divers Watches

Oris Divers Watches: Vintage Meets Modern

In 2015, Oris added a new collection to their impressive lineup of dive watches with the retro-inspired Oris Divers. These timepieces pay homage to Oris’s own vintage 36mm chromium-plated black watch, released back in 1965.

The Oris Divers collection lets you dive deep with its high water-resistance capabilities that go up to 100 meters. Equipped with solid automatic movements, the line has a range of reasonably priced pieces crafted from either stainless steel, titanium, or bronze and steel materials. What’s more, these rugged round face watches are fitted with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and SuperLuminova-coated hands and indices for optimal readability.

Winning the hearts of watch enthusiasts, Oris Divers delivers high-quality pieces that never disappoint. With their tasteful designs, top-notch materials, and solid calibers, these Swiss-made timepieces are surely worth every penny.

But if you’re on the lookout for models that increase in value in the long run, the very first edition and bronze versions of the Oris Divers Sixty-five are expected to appreciate in value over time. Should Oris ever decide to discontinue this famous line, these vintage-looking timepieces that are equipped with splendid movements will definitely be a very sought-after series.

History Behind the Oris Divers

In 2015, Oris took Baselworld on a deep dive into its long history with the unveiling of the 1960s-inspired Oris Divers. This move delighted horology fans as the brand recreated the iconic 36mm model with nearly no changes in the design and crafted it with innovative materials. Considered Oris’ most popular collection, these diver watches became a huge hit among fans with their vintage looks and accessible prices.

The next year, Oris and the Carl Brashear Foundation honored the heroic man with Oris’ first bronze timepiece. The Oris Caliber 401 also made its entrance at the same time. It bore a small seconds display at 6 o’clock instead of the seconds and date function of its big sister, the Caliber 401.

Oris then kicked off 2018 by adding another variant of the limited edition Carl Brashear timepiece with a chronograph function. The Oris Divers series also got an upgrade in the same year as they added a bronze-accented bezel to the stainless steel diving watches. Continuing their experimentation with these lustrous materials, Oris introduced new designs in 2019 which made the most out of the red-toned bronze material by using it for the bezel. This color combination inspired the Swiss brand to call these models “bico” or bi-color.

Today, Oris continue to innovate, expanding the Oris Divers series with more collaborations and new sub-collections such as the 2021 Divers Sixty Five Cotton Candy.

Reasons To Buy Oris Divers Watches

With Oris’ long heritage and expert craftsmanship, their high-quality pieces continually prove the brand’s excellence. But if you’re looking for more reasons to add these diver watches to your collection, then here are a few:

1. Great Value For Money

Loaded with impressive functions and heavy-duty materials, these Oris watches will surely give you a bang for your buck. Going as low as $1,249 USD, these Swiss-made pieces are luxurious diving accessories you can own without spending too much.

2. Helium Valve

Some models are equipped with a helium valve, which protects these Oris Divers from receiving damage due to increasing pressures. When triggered, this feature releases the gaseous mixtures present in your timepiece, relieving the pressure in the watch.

3. Sturdy Titanium and Bronze Cases

Aside from the subtle sparkle, these titanium and bronze materials give your Oris Diver a tough exterior. Bronze is extremely scratch-resistant, titanium is even stronger than stainless steel, so having these materials in your Oris Diver ensures that it will have a long shelf life.

4. Superluminova-Coated Indices and Hands

Giving you the best diving experience, these Oris Divers watches feature glow-in-the-dark indices and hands, as they are generously coated with Super-LumiNova. This makes reading the time easier when you’re underwater or in the dark.

5. Robust Calibers

Boasting power reserves between 38 to 120 hours, there is no question that these timepieces can go beyond what you need. This autonomy is made possible by solid automatic caliber movements developed by Oris themselves.

The Quintessential Oris Dive Watch

With powerful movements and handy features, the Oris Divers collection offers more than just its 1960s-inspired looks. These dive watches give more than what you ask for at a price that won't create a hole in your pocket. What's more, Oris continues its quest for constant innovation, adding better functions to their most sought-after line year after year. Without a doubt, the Oris Divers collection is one to keep an eye on.
