How much does a Longines HydroConquest watch cost?

Altogether, the Longines HydroConquest watches usually cost from $749 USD to $3,725 USD. And with such a huge price range, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a huge selection of watches you can choose from.

Prices for the Longines HydroConquest Three-Hand Watches

For starters, the collection has its own series of models that sport the traditional dial design. Known as Longines HydroConquest Three-Hand, these watches released in 2007 are styled with a combination of Arabic numerals, dots, and sticks as hour indexes depending on the model. These stylish dive pieces are equipped with either a stainless-steel bracelet or rubber strap.

Additionally, these timepieces are modified with a small date window at the 3 o’clock position. A great example that shows these characteristics is the timeless Longines HydroConquest Three-Hand Ref. L37424566. With a retail price of $1,275 USD, you’ll get an automatic watch with a stainless steel case and bracelet which protects its black dial. Additionally, this 41mm timepiece has an impressive 300m water resistance and is powered by the in-house caliber L619/888. Because of its classic design and amazing toughness, this is a great timepiece that can be rocked for both land and aquatic activities.

There are also amazing timepieces in this series for the ladies. For instance, the 34mm Longines HydroConquest Three-Hand Ref. L33403987 showcases a sophisticated design with its dark blue dial and gold and blue stainless-steel case. This $889 USD model also features a gold and silver stainless-steel bracelet which even adds more elegance to its appearance. And it’s not just all looks. The Swiss women’s watch is equipped with a quartz movement due to its in-house caliber Longines Calibre 156, and has the same impressive water resistance as its fellow models. With its fair price and impressive traits, this model is definitely a great accessory for any woman.

Prices for the Longines HydroConquest Ceramic Models

Ceramic is one of the toughest materials used in watches. And because of its unquestionable durability, it’s not surprising that Longines HydroConquest has its own version of ceramic timepieces. The 300m water resistant Longines HydroConquest Ceramic Ref. L37844569, for example, sports a sleek and dark look. This is due to its heavy application of matte black seen on its dial, ceramic case, and rubber strap. Additionally, this automatic Swiss watch is powered by the in-house caliber Longines Calibre L619/888, the same caliber used in some of the other timepieces in the entire collection. The caliber gives this model a 64-hour power reserve. Its black dial is also applied with Swiss Super-LumiNova, which makes it easily readable while submerged deep underwater. A brand new model has an approximate price tag of $3,725 USD.

Prices for the Longines HydroConquest Chronographs

Meanwhile, the collection also features chronograph watches. These Longines watches are available in self-winding movements. The dial of this model is equipped with a small date window between the 4 and 5 o’clock markers and three sub-dials.  The small seconds sub-dial is located at the 9 o’clock position, while the 30-minute and 12-hour counters are placed at the 3 and 6 o’clock positions, respectively. The $2,400 USD Longines HydroConquest Chronograph Ref. L37834569, for instance, displays these modifications along with its black dial. A gray stainless steel and ceramic bezel surrounds the dial, which is supported by a black rubber strap. Additionally, this 41mm self-winding chronograph watch is powered by the in-house caliber L688 and has a 300m water resistance.

The Longines HydroConquest 2018 Watches

In 2018, Longines revitalized some of their classic models to give them a newer and updated look while keeping their precise timekeeping and classic aesthetic. One model that shows these details is the 43mm Longines HydroConquest 2018 Ref. L37824566. Compared to the older models such as the one mentioned in the three-hand series, the dial of this 2018 timepiece has a cleaner look due to its use of smaller minute indexes. Additionally, the bezel’s minute markers extend only to the 15-minute mark, which helps reduce the cluttered appearance seen in most dive watches. Nevertheless, this model retained some of the timeless features of the classic Longines HydroConquest including a date window on its black dial and a stainless steel case and bracelet. This watch is also powered by the same in-house caliber L619/888 and approximately retails at $1,600 USD.

Latest Longines HydroConquest 2021 Models

The latest series made by Longines features a variety of stunning watches with cases made of steel and yellow or rose PVD coating paired with ceramic bezels. Also referred to as “Longines HydroConquest Two-Tone'', these timepieces preserve the traditional design of dive watches while giving it an extra flare. The watches in the series are also equipped with a small date window at the 3 o’clock marker and are available in a selection of eye-catching colors. For example, the $2,700 USD Longines HydroConquest Ref. L37813069 has a distinct khaki green matt case and rubber strap, which are complemented with some touches of yellow due to its yellow PVD coating. This 41mm automatic watch is also powered by the in-house Longines caliber L888, giving it a power reserve duration of 72 hours.

Up Close with the Valjoux 7750 Movement

The Valjoux 7750 movement is one of the most well-known movements used for chronograph watches. Introduced during the early 1970s, this movement is used in a variety of watch brands such as TAG Heuer and Hamilton. Because of its amazing reputation, the Longines HydroConquest collection also honors this movement and applies it in their chronograph models.

Their in-house caliber Ref. L688, in particular, is their own adaptation of the Valjoux 7750 movement. Just like the original, this in-house caliber has a 28,800 BPH frequency. However, the Swiss brand improved the power reserve duration from 48 hours to 54 hours. This allows the chronograph watches from Longines HydroConquest to be highly accurate and reliable.

History Behind the Longines HydroConquest Collection

In 2007, the Longines HydroConquest lineup was released with other Longines series including Longines Conquest, GrandeVitesse, and Admiral as part of the Swiss brand’s sports watch collections. Longines aimed to satisfy their clientele’s particular interests while simultaneously keeping the watches’ sophistication. As a result, HydroConquest watches are exclusively designed for both elegance and functionality. The unidirectional bezel and screw-in crown with crown guards, for instance, showcase both the functionality of a dive watch and sleek modern design.

And the Swiss brand did not just stop there. They eventually revamped some of their classic models in 2018 and gave them an updated look. Some models were given more minimalistic dial designs while other watches had their dial colored with appealing hues. This revival of the classics then gathered attention not only from the Swiss brand’s old clientele, but also from new audiences as well. And in 2021, Longines released a selection of elegant two-toned timepieces. As expected, these models displayed the Swiss brand’s ever-improving creativity and trademark reliability.
