Cartier is one of the oldest wristwatches in the history of man. Its creation is attributed to two friends, Alberto Santos- Dumont, who was a pilot, and Louis Cartier. It happened that Alberto, while doing field tests, had difficulties in using his pocket watches. This is because it was quite dangerous, so he needed something that was quite easy to access. It was this need that Cartier created a watch with a distinctive bezel. He joined a leather strap to the case so it could fit the wrist. This was the birth of wristwatches.

The bezel is a quite distinctive feature of the Santos 100. On wrists, the case curves nicely, this is because of the shape of the lugs, which make it aligns beautifully with your wrists. Though the case and bezel are square, their edges have more curves than angles, and the resulting look is a square that is actually round.  

Presently, the Santos Cartier comes in about 15 different models, including the stun of the seventies. The latest collection of 2018 is mind-blowing with certain contemporary yet unique features.  

The bracelets for this collection comes in a thinner form, and some find it quite comfortable that way. Its bezel also reduces in size but retains the distinct feature of previous models. There is also the "quickswitch" feature which helps you change from the leather strap to the steel bracelet with just a button. The "smartlink" this feature makes every piece of metal detachable from the other such that you can adjust the bracelet to your wrist size without any tool. Also, the larger version of this collection has a date window display. This model also has the in-house automatic calibre 1847-MC movement. It also comes with a 42-hour power reserve and is equipped with 23 jewels which are tucked somewhere under the solid steel case back.  

Generally, the Santos Cartier is attractive for its exquisite and unique features. It has also retained its intrinsic attractiveness and major features which have endured from trend to trend. All its models have also fallen within what would pass as affordable over the years, which makes it a preferable criterion for good looks all over the world.
