Breitling Bentley Watches: A Long-Standing Partnership Between Two Legends

What started as a commissioned project of Bentley to Breitling to create an onboard clock in 2002, followed by the release of a limited-edition chronograph to celebrate Bentley’s win at Le Mans in 2003, has prospered into something bigger for the two brands. The Breitling Bentley Black Midnight Carbon series is a sleek all-black timepiece that not only pays tribute to Bentley’s legendary car models but also boasts a PVD-coated steel casing, making it durable and scratch proof. Among the famous watches under this series is the Breitling Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon, named after the Bentley Mulsanne limousine, a tribute to the 6.75-liter engine that used to power up Bentley Mulsanne limousines. The Breitling Bentley GT Dark Sapphire series, inspired by the Bentley Continental GT car model, offers a lightweight version with its casing made up of Breitlight, a Breitling exclusive ultra-lightweight material that is known for resistance against scratch, magnetism, heat, and corrosion. The Dark Sapphire model amidst being painted in black has a blue-ish hint in its diamond pattern on the dial, and the rubber strap that resembles the interior of the famous Continental GT car model. The watch is equipped with Caliber B06 and uses a movement of a 30-second chronograph. There are only 500 pieces of this limited-edition Breitling Bentley GT Dark Sapphire wristwatch and is priced at around $7,300 USD. 

Among the rest, the Breitling Bentley Flying B Chronograph is different in terms of its style and design. The chronograph has a rectangle casing, equipped with push-pieces, and is powered by a caliber 44B. The Breitling Bentley Flying B Chronograph watch comes in either stainless steel or rose gold and is priced between $7,300 USD and $21,500 USD.

Prices for the Premier Breitling Bentley Centenary Limited Edition 

In 2019, in celebration of the 100 years of Bentley in the industry, Breitling introduced the Premier Bentley Centenary Limited Edition wristwatch. Decked in 18K red gold and stainless-steel versions that feature the famed burl elm seat insert of the original No. 9 Bentley Blower in its unique brown burl elm dial finished with a brown calfskin strap inspired from the luxury seats of a Bentley car. Powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, the 42mm watch has an engraved Bentley logo in the left side case and a “1 of 200” engraved in the case back indicating its limited pieces The 18K Red Gold model is priced at $28,000 USD, while the stainless steel version is priced at $10,200 USD.

The Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green is one of the newest collections of the Breitling and Bentley partnership released in 2020. The 42mm stainless steel wristwatch boasts Manufacture Breitling Caliber 01, Breitling’s self-winding high-performance chronometer-certified chronograph caliber. The watch also features a British racing green dial with black small seconds and a 30-minute chronograph counter. The Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green is available in a green nubuck leather strap or a seven-row stainless steel bracelet priced at $8,500 USD. 

Meanwhile, in the same year, Breilting also released the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition that took inspiration from the Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible from its blue and red accents to the vertically brushed silver dial that resembles the car’s Breitling dashboard clock and complements its sets of Arabic numerals: 3, 6, 9, 12 for the dashboard clock and 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 for the chronograph. There are only 1,000 pieces of the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition watch released and is priced starting from $8,650 USD.

History Behind the Breitling Bentley Collection

The link between Breitling and Bentley first started in the 1930s with the launch of its onboard chronograph for aviation. Willy Breitling, the grandson of founder Léon Breitling, was a huge fan of the luxurious car brand Bentley.
