In addition to that, you get to choose between automatic and chronograph watches with sizes ranging from 42mm to 46mm. How much does a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage cost?

Prices for the Breitling SuperOcean Héritage II Models

The Breitling SuperOcean Heritage II follows the footsteps of its forerunners the SuperOcean and SuperOcean Heritage. It is a mix of vintage and modern due to details such as the classic 1950’s logo paired with a much bigger case and a sporty yet clean looking face.

The Breitling SuperOcean Heritage B20 Automatic 44 in blue is truly a handsome looking timepiece. It is elegant and classic while looking stylish at the same time. The sexy shade of blue paired with stainless steel has a cool and laid-back feel to it perfect for nautical leisure activities such as sailing or yachting. It has a stainless steel 44mm case paired with a strap in the same material. You can go as deep as 200 meters (660 ft.) if used for underwater explorations and it has a power reserve of 70 hours. With its luminous display, you will not have to worry about reading the time in the dark. In addition, just below the SuperOcean Chronometer label, you will find the date display feature acting as the 6 o’clock mark. The watch has a see-through caseback secured with a glare proof cambered sapphire crystal so you can take a look at the COSC-certified movement. This eye-catching timepiece with a blue dial and blue bezel costs $5,200.00 USD. Resellers are offering it at a much lower price of $3,350.00 USD.

The mix of blue and white always looks fresh, crisp, and clean. The SuperOcean Heritage B20 Automatic 42 in silver has a blue rubber strap, a blue bezel, and a white dial. The combination of these colors has the word nautical written all over it and looks pleasing to the eyes. Similar to SuperOcean Heritage B20 Automatic 44 in blue, this one also has a 200 meter (660 ft.) water resistance and a power reserve of 70 hours. However, it has a smaller case measuring 42mm. Moreover, placed at the 6 o’clock mark of the watch is a date display feature and at the 12 o’clock mark is the cursive B logo of Breitling in a contrasting shade of gold. This classic looking watch with a COSC-certified movement and luminous display is priced at $4,260.00 USD.

Shifting to a bigger timepiece, the SuperOcean Heritage B20 Automatic 46 in black has, of course, a 46mm case and houses the same in-house Breitling Caliber B20. Other than the measurement of the case, the black dial, and black bezel, this one is similar to the previously mentioned timepiece. For the price of $4,950.00 USD, you can get this one with a black rubber strap but if you can buy a stainless steel strap, it will cost you $5,300.00 USD.

Prices for the Breitling SuperOcean Heritage B01 Chronograph Models

The SuperOcean Heritage B01 Chronograph 44 in 18k red gold and anthracite is one of the limited editions of this line. It has a water resistance of 200 m (660 ft) and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Looking at the black-eye gray dial, in the middle of the 4 and 5 o’clock mark you will see a date display feature and below the central hands is the indication ‘limited edition’. It houses the Breitling-manufactured Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer. This stainless steel 44mm watch with a black rubber strap and luminous display costs $9,250.00 USD. Since this particular model is limited to 200 pieces only, you can opt for the SuperOcean Heritage B01 Chronograph 44 in silver. It is cheaper than the previous one with a price of $7,800.00 USD. Just like the limited edition, its front and back are protected with a glare proof cambered sapphire crystal.

Vintage Breitling SuperOcean Heritage: Is it a worthy investment?

Breitling SuperOcean Ref. 1004 is loved for its elegant and clean looking face. It has a stainless steel case measuring 38mm, a self-winding ETA2365 movement and a unique concave bezel. For the dial, it features luminescent hands and dagger-shaped indices. The chronograph version of this is called Ref. 807; it has two subdials and a red chronograph hand that looks great paired with the black dial. This one is equipped with a hand-winding Venus 150 movement.

However, these two were the very first SuperOcean models and were not produced for a very long time. It was followed by several other versions containing different calibers. So we can say that the SuperOcean Ref. 1004 and Ref. 807 are rare timepieces that obviously come with a hefty price tag of around $11,430.00 USD to $17,150.00 USD, depending on the condition. Some even sell it for around $22,500.00 USD. It is more of a collector’s item rather than something that you could actually use considering its rarity and value. For sure, the prices of these SuperOcean timepieces will appreciate overtime.

Breitling SuperOcean Heritage's History and Design Details

Since 1884, Breitling, a Swiss luxury brand, has been creating reputable watches and is actually one of the oldest watch brands in the world. The SuperOcean Heritage line first came into light in 2007 to commemorate Breitling’s SuperOcean collection’s 50th anniversary. Fast forward to 2017, the brand launched its second SuperOcean line called SuperOcean Heritage II for its 60th anniversary. Both of these lines are inspired by the original 1950’s SuperOcean watch which was known for its classic, simple and elegant design. The two new lines, however, were reinvented by adding a sporty and modern twist to its look and movements to fit the needs, wants, and trends of today’s society. The models in sizes 42mm and 46mm are the ones released in 2017 and in 2018 came the 44mm. In line with that, Breitling also offered a wider selection of colors and strap materials.

After the release of SuperOcean Heritage II, the chronograph version of the watch was introduced. It bears COSC-certified chronometers, day and date displays, and different arrangements of the subdials. Some have them on the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock marks while other watches have them on the 6, 9, and 2 o’clock marks.

The Breitling SuperOcean Heritage vs. Breitling SuperOcean

Ever since the release of the Breitling SuperOcean in 1957, Breitling has been adding features with the latest technology to its watches and designs. They base the styles from the original SuperOcean and just tweaked things here and there to improve their timepieces.

During that time, Breitling had already made a name for itself and was known by many. However, with the release of their diving watches, they rose to fame and flourished even more.

You might be wondering, how does the SuperOcean and SuperOcean Heritage differ? Based on the very first SuperOcean model, they both have a retro vibe. Of course, the original models are expected to look vintage, but the brand decided to continue this vibe for their succeeding lines like the Heritage. It has the same minimalist feel and easy to read dial. The SuperOcean Heritage has a more contemporary size measuring 42mm to 46mm compared to the original size of just 38mm. In addition, the watches in this collection have a 70 hour power reserve and a 200 meter water resistance. It houses COSC certified movements and has an improved stainless steel bezel with a scratch proof ceramic ring that is durable and shock resistant.

Breitling released a new SuperOcean collection that shifted away a bit from their minimalist look. It now has large 6, 9, and 12 o’clock arabic numbers paired with large hour and minute hands. It has COSC certified movements, a date display on the 3 o’clock mark, and luminescent hands and indices. Add to that the remarkable 200 meter to 2000 meter water resistance and 38 hour power reserve.
