HYT’s Watch Collections

Although they have a huge collection of unique timepieces, HYT has four trademark lineups. Models under these collections highlight distinct appearances with well-crafted innovation.

Prices for the HYT H1 Watches: The Original Creation

Showcasing a bold and modern appearance, HYT H1 hydro mechanical watches are just some examples of Swiss innovation and craftsmanship. They are the first watches introduced by then HYT CEO Vincent Perriard in 2012 during Baselworld, an annual trade event held in Switzerland featuring timepieces and jewelry. And even though HYT has manufactured different collections of watches, HYT H1 timepieces remain to be the classic and original lineup.

Timepieces under this collection are made with a stainless-steel case, sapphire crystal, and a dark grey or black rubber strap with a titanium folding buckle. They also have HYT’s patented micro-fluidic module, along with a smaller dial that indicates elapsed seconds. The colors of this microfluidic module come in black, green, blue, and red. But watches under this collection don’t strictly come in black. The 48.8mm HYT H1 Blue 2, for example, features titanium and rose gold case, giving it its bright hue. It also sports a leather strap instead of a rubber one.

So how much are HYT H1 timepieces? Well, these watches have a price range of $38,599 USD to $58,000 USD, depending on the model. One great piece under this collection is the 49mm HYT H1 Velvet Gun Watch. This timepiece includes a titanium case, alligator band, and 30m water resistance. Additionally, its microfluidic module has a bright green hue, and just like other HYT H1 watches, it also has a dial indicating seconds.

Another great example is the HYT H1.0 Red Fluid. It’s a bit thinner at 48.8mm and has a higher cost of $53,000 USD. However, it has a higher water resistance at 50m. Overall, the luxury watches under this collection show the fusion between Swiss innovation and durability.

Prices for the HYT H2: The Updated Model

In collaboration with fellow Swiss watchmaking company Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi, HYT revealed their second hydro-mechanical timepiece collection in Baselworld 2013. The HYT H2 collection features watches with more machine-like appearance compared to their predecessors. Additionally, HYT created a specialized thermometer within the watch. This informs the wearer if the timepiece’s trademark fluid mechanics is in perfect temperature or if it needs to be cooled down or warmed up.

Aside from these updates, HYT H2 watches also feature a new dial look. They have bellows in a V formation by the 6 o’clock position, dial-mounted sprung balance and a larger jumping minute hand.  This update gives HYT H2 timepieces a mechanical appearance with a new special trademark. The larger minute hand, now in the middle of the dial, jumps between 5:30 and 6:30 before proceeding with its usual path.

However, timepieces under this collection do not strictly have this robotic, machine-like appearance. An exception is the 51mm HYT H2 Time is Fluid watches. These timepieces come in two models: red fluid and black fluid. The skeleton ring of these watches also sports letters that spell out “time is fluid” instead of only numerals. These watches also have two additional dials: the larger dial indicates minutes while the smaller one shows seconds. This design, along with the HYT H2’s updated look, gives HYT H2 Time is Fluid watches a mechanical yet sophisticated appearance.

You’re probably wondering how much the watches are under this collection. Well, these limited-edition updates from HYT cost $95,000 USD. The usual watches in this lineup measure 51mm, have a stainless-steel case with sapphire crystal, and a 30m water resistance. They also include a black leather strap with a titanium folding buckle.

The HYT H2 Time is Fluid watch, on the other hand, costs higher. Only featuring two models, these timepieces also measure 51mm, 30m water resistance, and have sapphire crystal. However, they have a translucent leather strap and the aforementioned additional dials. The HYT H2 Time is Fluid with reference 251-GD-465-RF-RU sports a stainless-steel case and black fluid, and it has a retail price of $115,000 USD. The other model with reference 251-GD-465-RF-RU includes an 18K gold case and red fluid which costs $125,000 USD.

Prices for the HYT Flow: A Collection That Lights Up the Room

Ever wondered if a single wristwatch could light up a dark room? Well, the limited-edition HYT Flow collection answers that question. Introduced in 2016 as an updated version of the HYT H4, the HYT Flow features hydro-mechanical timepieces with white LED light modules in the dial. Unlike its predecessors, this collection has a more elegant design, and its lights do not use battery.

HYT Flow timepieces have two button crowns: one in the 2 o’clock position while the other is at 4 o’clock. To turn the LED light on, the button crown located on the 4 o’clock position should be wound up then pressed. The LED light in this timepiece is located at the 6 o’clock position. Winding the button up allows the watch to produce electricity by rotating an electrical coil in the watch. The timepiece then lights up to two seconds every time the button is pressed and has a minimum illumination of eight seconds. This is because the crown can be pressed up to four times before being rewound.

Although this collection only has two models, each model has its own style to offer despite having some similarities. For starters, both models measure 51mm, and have stainless steel casing, sapphire crystal, and rubber strap with titanium folding buckle. They also have a water resistance of 30m and a power reserve indicator. However, the HYT Flow Black Fluid with reference H02465 has a swirly display on its LED light module. The other model, the HYT Flow Blue Fluid with reference H02464, seems to be decorated with diamonds.

So how much are these watches? Well, both timepieces have their own price tag. The HYT Flow Black Fluid has a suggested retail price of $79,000 USD. On the other hand, the HYT Flow Blue Fluid costs higher at $149,000 USD. Either of these Swiss-made models will surely light up the room.

Prices for the HYT Soonow: The Trademark Collection

Heavily inspired by the phrase “memento mori” and ancient Aztec art, the HYT Soonow is the Swiss brand’s trademark collection. Introduced in 2019, this lineup features the signature hydro-mechanical skull watches which aim to remind the wearer of living life to the fullest. HYT has manufactured other skull watches before such as HYT Skull Maori in 2015, HYT Skull Bad Boy in 2016, and HYT Skull Vida in 2017. However, HYT Soonow timepieces have a more artistic design compared to their predecessors.

Timepieces under this collection have HYT’s signature fluid mechanic, not in a circular pattern. Instead, the fluid is located in the outline of the skull. The skull is then filled with 313 18K gold pins. Additionally, the left eye, imprinted with “SOON” and “NOW” patterns, is designated as an indicator for seconds. Meanwhile, the right eye, which has an Aztec appearance, is used as a power reserve indicator. Furthermore, the teeth are made with 18K gold or polymer, depending on the model.

Timepieces under this collection come in three categories: original, Drop, and Instant Rainbow, all with the same diameter of 48.8mm and water resistance of 50m. The original HYT Soonow watches have either a green or blue fluid, both with polymer teeth. On the other hand, HYT Drop has three models: Drop One, Drop Two, and Drop Three. All of them feature a SuperLumi-Nova afterglow pigment. Additionally, the HYT Drop Three has golden teeth while the other two have polymer. Lastly, the HYT Instant Rainbow, also with golden teeth, features a multi-colored and hypnotic appearance. Its dial is also embedded with precious stones such as sapphire, amethyst, and tsavorite.

You’re probably now wondering how much these limited-edition timepieces cost. Well, HYT Soonow watches cost between $75,000 USD and $105,000 USD, depending on the model. The original design costs $75,000 USD while the HYT Soonow Drop models cost more at $79,000 USD. Meanwhile, the HYT Soonow Instant Rainbow has a higher price tag of $105,000 USD.

History of HYT Watches

Swiss entrepreneur Patrick Berdoz and HYT’s IP and Inventor of The Technology Lucien Vouillamoz created the timepiece brand in 2012. Vouillamoz’s idea of making timepieces that utilize fluid and mechanics to know the time is based on Egyptian pharaohs. These ancient royalties used water to indicate the lost time by transferring it from one vessel to another. HYT’s creator modernized this concept by creating ground-breaking timepieces that use a flowing module.

Because of their designs, HYT watches are rare timepieces that use water to tell time. With the aid of their sister company, Preciflex, the Swiss watchmaking company continues to utilize the time-indicating liquid found in their timepieces. And with the help of Swiss design and innovation, HYT can keep on manufacturing eye-catching watches.

HYT’s Milestones and Innovations

HYT has been an innovator in the field of watchmaking since 2012 when they released their first collection. The HYT H1 is the first lineup of watches to feature the brand’s signature fluid mechanic that took 15 years to progress. And ever since the collection was revealed, HYT continued to use this mechanic on its later models. Other watch brands haven’t utilized fluid mechanics, making HYT a trailblazer in manufacturing timepieces.

HYT Bespoke Watches

HYT Bespoke watches are basically timepieces customized to the clientele’s expectations and satisfaction. Through HYT bespoke team’s technology, creativity, and innovation, the timepieces manufactured under this lineup surely fit the customer’s preferred design and aesthetic.

HYT offers two programs for customized timepieces: Bespoke One and Bespoke Two. Bespoke One allows nearly limitless possibilities of customizations to be added to the watch. From shapes of components to materials used and fluid colors, HYT will do it as long as it's plausible. On the other hand, Bespoke Two focuses solely on the watch’s cosmetic appearance. Here, the materials, coatings, engravings, and colors can be chosen to create an eye-catching timepiece.

HYT Hydro Technology

With Egyptian inspiration and the help of its sister company, HYT has created its ground-breaking signature hydro technology. This is possible due to a carefully designed system. Inside the watches are bellows that are filled with unmixable fluids. These fluids then flow through a capillary which is actuated by machines to indicate the time.

And with Preciflex’s aid, designating the time via fluid became possible. This is because HYT’s sister company has been active in manufacturing products that utilize liquid indication. These products are then used in different fields such as medicine, motor vehicles, and the design industry.

Five Reasons to Buy an HYT watch

1. Limited Edition

HYT watches are rare, especially the 48.8mm HYT H1.0 x Mr. Porter men’s watch and all the timepieces under the HYT H2, HYT Flow, and HYT Soonow collections. This is because, unlike other timepieces, hydro-mechanical watches are not mass-produced due to their carefully crafted design and mechanics. A single model from the Swiss watchmaking company may have only 25 pieces at most. So, if you’re an avid watch collector, enthusiast, or aficionado, getting a rare HYT watch is already a huge achievement.

2. Technological Marvel

Water and wristwatch are words that we probably don’t associate with each other, except for diving watches. In fact, most of us probably don’t even want to get our luxury wristwatches wet. However, despite not being diving watches, HYT timepieces beg to differ. HYT proves that time can be indicated by using water, something that other watches don’t do.

3. Unique and Different

HYT watches do not have the typical appearance of a wristwatch. Instead, every watch under any collection has its own appearance which makes it different. The HYT H1 and HYT H2 have bulky, machine-like designs. HYT Flow has an LED light in the watch’s dial. And the HYT Soonow has an Aztec skull motif. All of these appearances are something you don’t typically find in other wristwatches.

4. Fairly High Durability

These timepieces not only offer distinct appearances and innovative mechanics. HYT watches also hold their own in terms of sturdiness. The combination of stainless-steel case and sapphire crystal gives the watches their durability. Not to mention, the HYT Soonow timepieces, in particular, have 50m water resistance, allowing them to function even when wet.

5. Impressive Power Reserve

Since HYT timepieces are manual winding watches, you’ll have to wind them again sooner or later. But no need to worry about this factor because HYT watches have an impressive power reserve of 65 hours. HYT H2 watches are an exception to this because they have an astounding 192-hour power reserve. So, no need to worry about winding your wrist watch often. HYT timepieces already have that covered.

HYT Watches: Masters of Technology

HYT has proven itself to be a successful brand in luxury watchmaking. With the aid of its sister company, the Swiss brand has continued to create a variety of timepieces that feature innovation, technology, and outstanding design.
